The U.S. Embassy will be closed on Monday, May 29, for Memorial Day, a day Americans set aside to honor the men and women who lost their lives while serving their country. Originally known as Decoration Day, it was established in 1868 to commemorate those who died in the Civil War. Over the years it came to serve as a day to remember the sacrifices of all the men and women who died while serving in the military.
All Embassy services, including visa, American passport, and notary services, will resume operation on Tuesday, May 30, 2000.During the holiday period, visa applications can be left with travel agencies or at the Embassy front gate on Jalan Tun Razak.
