Financial Specialist
The American Embassy is inviting applications for a Financial Specialist position. The incumbent has overall
financial management responsibility for the Embassy and the scope, volume and complexity of work involved is
very demanding and requires a high degree of technical knowledge and independent initiative.
The incumbent must have degree in accounting or business related discipline or equivalent and must have at
least eight years of work experience in an accounting related field such as finance, accounting, auditing or
taxation. He/She must be able to relate funds management with programs; understand financial management
implications of changes of priorities, tempo, and direction of programs and be able to recommend appropriate
adjustments to financial plans; relate changes to funding levels brought about by reductions in allotments due
to cuts, variations in exchange rates, increased costs of material and labor, etc., and advise management
officials of program implications; possess a high level of interpersonal skills in articulating (orally and in
writing) complex issues and relationships between functions/ programs/projects and funding options; and
supervise subordinates effectively to ensure effective performance of work on a timely basis and to ensure that
the work force is properly trained and motivated. He/She must be fluent in English and have a good working
knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia.
The minimum starting annual salary is RM65,110. Benefits include a two-month bonus, a higher EPF employer

Security Guards (two positions)
The American Embassy is inviting applications for Security Guards. Applicants must have completed
SRP/LCE and have one year experience working in the security field. They must be physically fit and be
prepared to attend drills and work on rotating shifts. They must possess a class D and B2 driving
license and be able to speak Bahasa Malaysia and speak simple English. The minimum starting annual
salary is RM20,717. Benefits include a two-month bonus, a higher EPF employer contribution rate, group
